Vision Board Magic

my vision board

Would you like to create more flow around your workspace, relationships, career and more? Then why not have a go at the Chinese art of Feng Shui and create a vision board!

It is a fantastic way to start each new year and something I have been creating one for many years and is fun to do with friends and family too!

What is a vision board?

It is a place to convert your wishes, into reality – from relationships, to career, holidays, pets and more.

The energy of thought is quick, the energy of physical/material life is much slower and denser, so creating a vision board helps to anchor the vision with the feeling and manifest into reality!

The Grid

So, what you are going to do is to match the area want to focus on, with images/words and the feeling or emotion it conjures within you.

This really is like a map of your life, where each area represents a different segment of your life allowing energy, vitality, and harmony to flow and activate. What attention goes, energy flows, right!

There are 3 rows of 3, so 9 areas altogether. You can fill all areas, or just one! It is totally up to you.

Wealth and Prosperity (Top row left): This section represents abundance, financial success, and material wealth. Incorporate images of money, luxurious items, or anything that symbolizes prosperity to you. Focus on the colour purple.

Fame and Reputation (Top row centre): This area is about your public image, success, and recognition. Include images of awards, accolades, or people you admire to enhance this energy. Focus on the colour Red.

Love and Relationships (Top row right): This section focuses on love, relationships, and emotional connections. Use images of happy couples, hearts, or symbols of love and partnership to strengthen this area. Focus on the colour Pink.

Family and Health (Middle row left): This area represents your family, health, and well-being. Add images of your loved ones, healthy foods, or activities that promote wellness to boost this energy. Focus on the colour green.

Center (middle row centre): The is the heart of the Bagua Map and represents balance and harmony. Keep this area uncluttered and use symbols of peace, such as a Yin Yang symbol or calming images. Focus on the colour yellow.

Creativity and Children (Middle row right): This section is all about creativity, self-expression, and personal growth. Include images of your hobbies, artistic pursuits, or anything that inspires your creative side. Focus on the colour white.

Knowledge and Self-Cultivation (Bottom row left): This area focuses on personal growth, wisdom, and learning. Add images of books, mentors, or educational symbols to enhance this energy. Focus on the colour blue.

Career and Life Path (Bottom row centre): This section represents your career, goals, and life purpose. Use images that symbolize your dream job, professional achievements, or aspirations. Focus on the colour black.

Travel and Helpful People (Bottom row right): This area is about travel, new experiences, and supportive connections. Include images of your dream destinations, mentors, or people who have helped you along your journey. Focus on the colour grey.

What do you need?

I personally, like to be tactile and create using paper and materials but there are most likely apps out there if you're more inclined to go techno!

Important - Choose the size of board you want to use (I use a large cork board, but you can just use an A3 piece of paper or card!).

Choose your quadrants – are you focusing on all areas of your life or just one or two?

Then, get hold of some magazines such the ones you can get for free in supermarkets, travel magazines, newspaper magazines, books sitting on the shelf. Opportunity/charity shops are great resource too. I also enjoy having a magazine subscription so have a nice stash ready to use but the end of the year!

You will then need, texters, scissors, sticky tape, pins or glue and ribbon or wool to separate the quadrants and assemble!

When it’s time to start creating

  • Allocate some time when you won’t be disturbed

  • Set the scene with nice music, a candle perhaps

  • What people forget – is first to place a photo of yourself in the middle! This is for you or your family so show yourselves off, own this vision board!

  • Next, choose what words or images jumps out – you don’t need to procrastinate toooooo much, just connect to whatever draws your senses and eyes in first and cut it out. You can omit later if need be

  • Next, match the colour(s) of what you’ve cut out, to the area of your life

  • For example a fancy red sports car, would be perfect for the fame corner (if that’s what you are aiming for!), or a bunch of pink roses and the word love for the relationship corner

  • Notice if one or 2 areas don’t fill as quick as others these are indicators of struggle or resistance in your life, so you’ll be noticing big changes in this area!

Tips

  • Don’t make it a chore, if you get bored, stop and come back to it later –your creative energy will drop otherwise

  • Add your sparkle! – glitter jar, gemstone drops, crystals, herbs, ribbon

  • Use other items e.g. clothes labels, packaging, material, textures – keep it interesting and tactile

  • Add other elements if you want to using angel numbers, star signs for example

  • Memories and smells go together, so use essential oil, music – so when you’re looking at your vision board the connection gets stronger each time

  • Include picture of your guides or gurus on there, quotes that you resonate with

  • Make a change if need be, if the image/word doesn’t seem to fit your vision – change it – it can take a couple of weeks to get it just right!

  • Have balance – not too cluttered yet not too sparce but it doesn’t have to be perfect!

  • If you use Reiki draw the power symbol to charge it

  • Take a photo at the end – use as a screen saver on your pone!

Then….smile to yourself.

You have gifted your life with some beautiful, creative, loving, energy.

Where to put it

Place it where you look at it often but not somewhere that it gets lost in the noise of busy-ness or people e.g. in the kitchen.

How often to create a vision board

Change it once a year, it doesn’t have to be the start of the year!

Be reflective and mindful and notice what has changed/changing in your life, notice the synchronicities!

Good luck, I’d love to see a picture when you’re done!

Much love,
